Indie Distributor Hannover House Tops Entertainment Stocks as Best Value
Jan 28, 2015 (ACCESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- New York, NY / ACCESSWIRE / January 28, 2015 / Independent film production and distribution company Hannover House, Inc. (OTC:HHSE) has once again topped the year-end list as the best valued entertainment stock for all U.S. based companies. With shares selling for less than a penny against significant and growing earnings, Hannover House shares are currently priced at nearly 500% below the industry price-earnings average. The stock chart was prepared by Graham Financial Services, Inc., and is based on the December 31, 2014 closing share price for the eleven full-service, publicly-traded entertainment companies. Stock pricing and earnings data was obtained through Yahoo! Finance. Other companies whose stocks are considered value buys include Viacom (Paramount), Starz, Time Warner and Comcast (NBC-Universal). Stocks with trading prices above the industry price-earnings average include: Lionsgate, Disney, Sony and News Corporation (Fox). Indie distributors E-One and RLJ Entertainment posted losses and as such, a price-earnings formula could not be determined.
Graham Financial Services, Inc. is a ten-year-old, independent financial advisory service. Neither Graham Financial nor any of its principals, officers or directors holds shares in any of the entertainment stocks covered in this annual report.

For the second year in a row, Hannover House, Inc. has led the list of best-value entertainment stocks. Established more than 20-years ago as a book publisher, Hannover House added DVDs and feature films to its release slate in 2002, and has since grown to become one of the more recognized releasing brands for independent films. Despite consistent earnings, the price for Hannover House shares has been significantly lower than book-value, which Graham Financial feels should change dramatically with the company's significantly larger 2015 release slate of films and videos.
During the first six months of 2015, Hannover and Medallion supplier labels will release a total of thirty new release films and twenty-four repriced titles to the USA home video market - a volume of releases that is more than six-times greater than the company's total output during 2014. Additionally, Hannover House will be releasing five films to theatres during the first half of the year, which activities will collectively elevate the labels to a major independent status within the industry.
"It's taken several years to reach this point. But it's safe to say that we have arrived," said Fred Shefte, President of Hannover House. "Under the direction of our new V.P. of Sales, Tom Sims, and his Medallion Releasing structure, we have more new release titles now shipping and streeting during the first quarter of 2015 than we had during the two previous years combined. The wholesale and retail response to this product slate has been superb, and we will maintain this aggressive pace throughout the year. It's a very exciting to watch our revenues grow exponentially under this new, Medallion multi-studios structure," he concluded.
Tom Sims, formerly the Walmart Video Buyer for Anderson Merchandising, has organized a consortium of independent supplier studios to combine sales activities under Medallion Releasing, a distribution unit of Hannover House. Sims operated a similar venture at Vivendi/Universal Music Group, which combined titles from approximately ten supplier studios under a single sales and distribution banner. The business model has resulted in a rapid expansion of release activities and revenues for the combined entities.
Key new release DVD and BluRay titles for Hannover House and Medallion Releasing supplier studios during the first half of 2015 include:
"American Justice" - Action Adventure starring Tommy Tiny Lister, John Schneider, James Russo, Vida Guerra and Johnny "Nitro" Hennigan; "Gabrielle" - Horror-Thriller starring Michael Madsen; "Silent No More" - drama starring Kim Whitley and K.D. Aubert; "Dinosaurs of the Jurassic" - Kids Educational starring Dr. Scott Sampson; "Salvation" - Thriller starring Ryan Donowho and Angel McCord; "Yoga Fit" starring CBS Sports personality Allie LaForce; and "Bad Apple" - Christian drama starring Rhoda Griffis and Darrin Dewitt Henson. Principal budget-priced releases and reissues include: "3 Geezers" starring Tim Allen, Kevin Pollak and J.K. Simmons; "Love Beat the Hell Outta Me" starring Terrence Howard; "War Flowers" starring Christina Ricci and Tom Berenger; "Grand Champion" starring Emma Roberts, with Julia Roberts and Bruce Willis; "Doonby" starring John Schneider; and "Jules Verne's Mysterious Island" a SyFy Channel movie.
New release videos during 2013 for Hannover House were "Toys in the Attic", "Zombie Warz", "Fathers of the Sport", "Razorbacks Football", and the three-title Jules Verne collection, "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", "Around the World in 80-days", and "Journey to the Center of the Earth". New release videos for 2014 were "Amityville Asylum", "Blues for Willadean", Canadian releases of "To.Get.Her: The Spring Break Murders", and "Possession: The Ingloda Within". Hannover House also released three books in 2014 and one audio CD, the John Lennon Tribute CD, "Lennon Bermuda."
During 2015, Medallion and Hannover House expect to have a total of fifty new release titles and forty-five re-issues or budget-priced promotions. Key theatrical releases will likely drive DVD and BluRay revenues for 2016 as these higher-profile theatrical titles tend to generate significantly greater video revenues than the direct-to-video fare.
