Man that was an insane game. I got to the mirage about 75 minutes before kickoff. all the posh wide leather chairs were already taken and the sofas were reserved but they had all the regular chairs out ( like poker chairs) lining the walls so that added about 100 or more chairs. i saw maybe 6 open ones so I walked thru to make sure there were no single posh seats and by the time I walked back over 30 feet there was 3 chairs and 2 guys walking towards them. thankfully it was just those 2 so I got a seat. two nice guys from boston ( father son duo ) and the dad was pulling for a seattle nee match up. on the other side of me was two 25 year old kids from cincy but one lived in chicago now. both hoping seattle would win but one did bet against it since the line was big. I had a great talking chatting with both. The dad on my left and I were just in shock after every turnover but impressed with another stop. so we are down 16-0 late in 3rd and he and I both are thinking well this isnt good. then the fake punt for a td happens so we get hope but that fades as the woes continue into the fourth qtr. half way through the 4th the older guy tells me dont give up hope till its over and goes on to tell me about how I think it was san fran in the late 80s had a big come from behind late in a game. then wilson throws the last pick with like 4 to go and we both agree put a fork in them. they had a horrible game and unfortunately its in the nfc title game at this point its 19-7 and the first td by lynch get called out on like the 10 and they score but with like 2 time outs and 3 minutes to its still unlikely as gb just needs 1 first down and its pretty much over so we need an onside kick to even have a small chance ( which before the 2nd td i read where seattle had a 1% to win lol ) I tell the old guy well maybe ill grab another beer for good luck. play resumes as im waiting for my beer at the counter and the unthinkable happens with a onside recovery. you could see the panic start to set in on all the packer fans faces in the book because they had been loud and excited and pretty much already had been giving each other congratulations. seattle recovers and the sports book bursts with cheers ( lots of seattle fans but it was weird as seattle was was still a -7 for the second half so I doubt many bet it so it was like every one was just cheering for the miracle ) i get back to my seat and high 5 the older guy, by now the younger guys to my right left when it was 16-0 to check out of the hotel. then a couple big plays and now its 20-19 and we lead. then gets real loud on 2 point conversion to go up by 3. then gb ties on the late fg and we go to OT. huge pass to the local boy and udub kid Kearse! I had forgot that on a TD its sudden death and on a FG the other teams gets a chance. college the both gets chances no matter what. so I cheered and jumped up and down the old guy was going nuts, his kid was mad because he bet GB in the second half lol and then I kid you not it took me 30-60 seconds to even realize that the game was over hahhahaha. amazing the sports book went nuts seattle fans lost their minds and were running all around the sports book high 5ing every seattle fan or anybody clapping. it was pretty amazing and to be honest Im still in shock. the offense however really scares me against NE. I just hope our D remains standing firm and keeps NE under 20. 16 would be ideal. oh I almost forget the 2 kids from cincy came back into the sports book and found me to shake my hand and congratulate me lol to be honest during every big sports game ive watched in the sports book ive had a blast.
