Shares of BlackBerry Limited (BBRY) reached a new 52 week high of $12.63 on Wednesday's intraday trading, following certain press reports indicating takeover talks between the company and Samsung Electronics Co. for a potential deal valued at as much as US$7.5 billion
BBRY said in a statement that it has not engaged in discussions with Samsung with respect to any possible offer to purchase the company, while Samsung Electronics spokeswoman Jini Park called the report "groundless".
The price of BBRY stock plunged more than 10% in after-hours trading following BBRY's statement.
