World Surveillance Group Inc. (OTCBB: WSGI), a developer of lighter-than-air unmanned aerial vehicles and related technologies, announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Global Telesat Corp. ("GTC"), experienced a significant increase in sales of mobile satellite solutions ("MSS") during the first quarter of 2012, due in part to the recent launch of its e-commerce MSS website, www.gtc-usa.com . GTC's sales during the first quarter of 2012 reflect the best quarterly sales period GTC has had since its acquisition by WSGI.

During the first quarter, GTC provided MSS that addressed a variety of customer requirements around the globe, including the supply of specialized satellite tracking devices and messaging services for use in Afghanistan, satellite phones for essential communication requirements during the uprisings in the Middle East, and satellite broadband airtime to enable wounded servicemen to send blogs, photographs and emails during a two month charitable fundraising trek to the base camp at Mt. Everest. GTC has also received and is working to address numerous inquiries from defense and defense-related companies seeking samples, demonstrations and technical information on GTC's proprietary tracking devices, mapping software and satellite ground station capabilities.

These new orders and inquiries secured by GTC follow the recently implemented strategy to diversify GTC's satellite business operations to address the multi-billion dollar global MSS market. Over the coming months, GTC intends to continue to address this market by significantly increasing the range of products and solutions available for customers to purchase online through its e-commerce website, establishing additional global reseller agreements, and aggressively marketing its full product suite of customized tracking devices, satellite communications equipment and other MSS products.

WSGI President and CEO Glenn D. Estrella stated, "One of our goals was to start the year strong by executing on opportunities available to each of our businesses.
