We are excited about the vote in Florida and fully support Ballot Initiative Amendment 2, which if passed tomorrow, will allow the medical use of marijuana for individuals with debilitating diseases as determined by a licensed Florida physician. In addition, caregivers may assist patients' medical use of marijuana. The Department of Health will register and regulate centers that produce and distribute marijuana for medical purposes and shall issue identification cards to patients and caregivers. A constitutional amendment sponsored by People United for Medical Marijuana obtained 754,613 signatures by January 24, 2014 (683,149 were required by February 1, 2014).
