I would answer your questions as follows:

How can they wear me out if I am ignorining them?

They've already worn you down. This is understandable. It is exhausting.

How am I appeasing the bashers by ignoring them?

When a stock is in penny world, it doesn't get covered often by proper analysts (if there is such a thing) or media. Message boards are where the vast majority of information and rumors originate (and should always be verified through proper DD). Letting bashers take over the boards where a lot of good information is coming from turns them into a useless, less credible source filled with negativity and doubt. Sure...the wise can see through it, but not everyone can. What information would you prefer new investors see when they stumble onto iHub and read the first 20 posts? Fake SEC investigations and fake trading suspensions? Or info on how close we are to certification?

How does fear create value?

Simple. How do you put a price tag on a start-up with no revenue? Mostly through investor sentiment. A large number of investors respond to fear (I would argue that they respond to fear more than to hope). So, by selling into the bid abruptly while simultaneously spreading fear and dread, a stock can be moved lower and one can buy back in slowly (or cover if you are shorting). MMs facilitate this regularly on the OTC. Some MMs are notorious for this approach.

Many investors follow stocks on iHub. Some are not as savvy as others. Swaying just a few of them is all it takes to make 1% in a day.

Do you really think they are not profiting from this? Why do you think they are so relentless? Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that manipulation due to stock bashing is the only influence on a stock, but to suggest that bashing has no effect is naive.
