They've already been bailed out a couple of years ago when they lost $122m (yes really) on one trade. Then some idiot company bought them I think for maybe a nominal sum like $1 in return for taking on their liabilities.
So if the same thing happens to them again I'd hope nobody will trust them as they will clearly have shown themselves to be repeat offenders. After all it's not like the entire financial world doesn't know what they're doing.
This isn't 2008. There are plenty of other market makers out there. NITE would be forgotten within a week.
