I understand disappointment at this board but my info comes directly from the source. And don't expect any anouncement from the company about the failure, nor will they admit anything it if you call them.
Performance of the crew was fantastic, they opened the doors in lesser time than prescribed by FAA. Except of one door in the back of the plane which didn't open. Also one blocking device , which signals the crew member that that door shouldn't be opened, malfunctioned. So they opened one extra door which supposed to be blocked from opening.
It is interesting that after 10 days of fixing the plane there are still issues with the bird. If the maintenance manages to fix the problem today, there might be another try for mini-evac tonight or tomorrow, if it gets approved by FAA.
If Baltia doesn't fly at least one Proving Flight before the end of the year, they will be set back for months, since in 2015 starts a new FAA regulation. Baltia will have to comply with this new regulation. Thats why they pushed very hard to start the flight this year. But it looks it won't happen.
I am disappointed myself
