A 17-year-old schoolboy has amassed a fortune of $72m (£46m) by spending his lunch breaks playing the stock market.
Mohammed Islam, a "soft-spoken" senior at a high school in New York, first dabbled in stocks when he was just nine years old, according to an interview.
He said losing all of his first investment nearly put him off for life - were it not for the writings of billionaire hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones, who made his money despite repeated losses.
The teen prodigy, the son of Bengali immigrants, owns a BMW he does not yet have a licence for and a Manhatten apartment his parents won't let him move into until he graduates. He is president of the investment club at his school, Stuyvesant High.
But he plans to set up a hedge fund with two friends Damir Tulemaganbetov and Patrick Trablus when he turns 18 and can get his broker-dealer licence. The trio, who hold business meetings over apple juice and caviar, aim to make their first billion by next year, all while attending college.
