CBS Corp. has not executed on a threatened blackout of its stations and cable channels on Dish Network (NASDAQ: DISH), as the two sides continue to negotiate renewals of retrans and carriage agreements.

"CBS remains on the air with Dish while negotiations progress into the evening," read a terse CBS statement, sent at 7:08 p.m. ET Thursday, about eight minutes after the deadline the broadcaster gave Dish to carve a deal out.

CBS had announced two prior temporary extensions, keeping its channels on Dish as negotiations progressed. On Tuesday, however, CBS publicly warned Dish that it would pull its channels on Thursday night if no deal was made.

CBS is negotiating retransmission renewal agreements for 29 channels in 17 markets, as well as carriage license renewals for Showtime and CBS Sports Network.

For Dish, it's just one of numerous programming negotiations in various stages of slow grind. On Friday, Nexstar Broadcasting Group threatened to pull stations in 60 markets off Dish before 12 a.m. ET Saturday morning if a retrans renewal couldn't be made.

"Nexstar regrets that Dish Network is willing to hold its paying subscribers hostage because it won't agree to fair and reasonable terms for viewers' favorite programming" reads a company statement released Thursday.
