IATA Assigns to Baltia Two-Letter Designator
YPSILANTI, Mich., Dec. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Baltia Air Lines (BLTA) announced today that IATA (International Air Transport Association) has assigned to Baltia the two-letter designator "BQ".
Baltia Air Lines is America's newest airline, currently undergoing Air Carrier Certification. Baltia's principal base of operations is at Willow Run Airport, Michigan. Upon Certification, Baltia will operate Boeing 747 aircraft across the Atlantic, from JFK Airport New York to Pulkovo Airport St. Petersburg, Russia.

IATA airline designators, sometimes called IATA reservation codes, are two-character codes assigned by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to the world's airlines in accordance with the provisions of IATA Resolution 762. They form the first two characters of the flight number.
