As an example of a spin off I went through check this out http://investors.galenabiopharma.com/released...eid=667578 I had 500 shares of gale and when they spun off rxii they gave me 2500 shares of rxii. I sold gale in 2013 at around $5 and sold rxii a little over $4 in 2013. My original purchase of gale was 500 shares at about $1.40 so if you do the math I did well with that spin off. Picon and mods I'm not promoting those stocks I just wanted to give an example of a true spin off. Interestingly they are both around $1.80 now. I have no idea why because I'm focusing on fitx now..
