Dollar General announces extension of tender offer to acquire Family Dollar shares to 31 December 2014

Retail store operator Dollar General Corporation (NYSE: DG) announced on Friday that it has extended its tender offer to acquire all outstanding shares of Family Dollar Stores Inc (NYSE: FDO) for USD80.00 per share in cash, including associated preferred share purchase rights, to 17:00 hours, New York City time on 31 December 2014, unless further extended.
