Quantum Materials announced the expansion Wednesday. The company will double its scientific staff and start recruiting in January.
Quantum Materials produces quantum dots, a semiconductor that can be used in LED screens and is popularly used in medical and solar products.
The company's headquarters are located at the STAR Park, which is part of Texas State University's property. The expansion will quadruple the company's Quantum Dot production space.
By June of next year, the new, state-of-the-art lab will be completed.
