Forgive me for using this board as a bully pulpit but I just got off the phone with my local Scottrade branch telling them I thought the $19.31 fee for a R/S was ridiculously excessive, and that I'd be picketing out front Monday holding an unflattering sign as hundreds of people drove by if they didn't erase the fee. No, I'm not redirecting anger over losing so much with EWSI. This to me is a matter of principle. I've paid perhaps over $1,000 in brokerage fees with Scottrade over the last few years. And I've successfully picketed before with large organizations. It's amazing how fast they respond to get you off the street. Many think they can simply call the police to get you removed. But as long as you're standing on the public property sidewalk and not obstructing traffic there's nothing they can do.
Sound silly? Perhaps. But is anyone mad at hidden fees on utility bills, Bank bills, etc? Anyone read about the recent billion+fines levied on the 5 largest Banks in America for orchestrating a collusion to fix investment prices? Enough already! Just sayin. Power to the people!
