NEWS: UHD leads TV set sales

“Samsung claimed the 4K/UHD market leader spot with a variety of
competitively priced options, concentrating on the hottest screen
size segments,” added Baker. “As holiday promotions get underway,
this year will be the critical point for 4K/UHD to begin to claim
its position as the ‘must have’ premium TV experience. The right
pricing combined with increased awareness will be essential for
success this holiday. Prices have fallen 10 per cent over the last
four weeks, since Vizio entered the 4K/UHD market, showing that
awareness and brand won’t be the only factors in delivering 4K/UHD
volumes over the holiday.”

NTEK

The NEXT "filing" should show what price he recently got for even more... the .03zzz he got for the $250,000 was long long long ago... way before it even went down to .037... since he has claimed he put in $635,000 for restricted... in past he also claimed he had 21,000,000 at average of .02 ... claimed he was loading the boat .10 to .15 etc... and advising others to do the same ... putting up BIG bids to show his support... and this and that lolzzz... way too much all along been goin' on that it is hard to even remember all the stuff... lol
Nope... NTEK has been diluting... slowly for a very long time... they are NOT buying back shares...
BUY BACK IN PROGRESS.......
At these prices
If the company is willing to give away millions of shares at 3 pennies....

What should that tell you?
Agreed! 100%
Ntek closed .047 June 12. Yes, its odd with everything going on with gaming show, 4k Studios, ultraflix, etc that ntek is not trading higher. Good for me i was able to collect more shares to tke advantage of this opportunity. Why, because nothing has changed with the business plan. Company is supporting salaries of 55 employees and paying rent at nine facilities. To do so they must be making money. Good things happening here.
Lucky him.

N.Y. Times Video: REDUCE YOUR MONTHLY CABLE BILL!!!
http://tinyurl.com/n4u3tnq

Quote:
Reduce Your Monthly Digital Bills
By Vanessa Perez and Rebekah Fergusson

Molly Wood audits her digital expenses, from cloud storage to
streaming movies, and finds ways to trim her monthly bills.

Quote:
Cutting the High Cost of Digital Living

SOMETIMES the modern world feels like death by a thousand little
subscription payments.

In a lot of ways, we can live in an on-demand, à la carte dream. We
can collect, stream and store movies, TV shows, photos, videos and
music nearly wherever and whenever we desire. It’s almost
irresistible, and definitely addictive.

But boy, the cost of this fun-at-your-fingertips life adds up
quickly. It is easy to owe subscription fees or other payments to
almost a dozen services. And even if you try to be less indulgent,
the bills can pile up without realizing it.

To keep all the subscriptions straight, and to avoid paying for
services no longer wanted or needed (or forgotten about entirely),
it is worthwhile to conduct a regular audit of your digital life.
When I recently did this math, adding up my cable, Internet and
cellphone bills, the total was a real eye-opener: nearly $400 a
month.

Shocked? I was. And you might be, too, once you crunch your numbers
— and it may help if you use my experience as a guide for
conducting your own digital audit.

For me, and probably for you, the biggest chunk of money goes to
TV and movies. Many consumers are paying for at least two separate
services to deliver television and movies, and probably more.

For example, my Comcast cable bill — which includes a cable
television package, high-speed Internet and a landline phone — is
about $180 a month. That is high, but not unusually high: The NPD
Group, the research company, said cable TV bills alone (minus
Internet and phone) averaged $83 a month in 2012, and they have
been increasing by about 6 percent a year, outpacing inflation.
NPD predicts the average cost will reach $200 by 2020.

Despite that service and the cost, many of the things I want to
watch are not available without an additional service or a more
expensive TV package. I recently added HBO for a promotional price
of $10 a month, and a supplemental on-demand service, Streampix,
that costs $5 a month.

So, that’s $195 for cable services alone.

Then there is $13 a month I pay for TiVo service, which I prefer to
the Comcast cable box, which is $3 a month cheaper. I also pay for
Netflix ($8 a month) and Amazon Prime ($79 a year).

By this point, you probably think I have enough to watch. But no.

In the last year, on-demand rentals and iTunes purchases of movies
added about $10 a month to my media budget. I also stream some
videos on my Xbox 360 game console, which means I need the Xbox
Live Gold for $50 a year, or about $4 a month.

In total, then, I’m paying $236 a month for Internet, movies and
TV. Ouch.

The obvious way to cut the bill is to get rid of cable. A stand-
alone Internet service would cost about $40 a month (prices may
vary, of course, depending on speed and promotions), removing $155
or so from my monthly total, or about $1,860 a year. After all,
I’m already managing multiple video subscriptions, and my TiVo and
my Internet-connected TV both deliver online video to my television
set. And almost $2,000 a year is significant savings.

.....

Wouldn’t life be simpler if one service like Amazon, Comcast or Google could just give me all the streaming media, storage and entertainment I need?

Probably. But it would most likely be more expensive and far less flexible.

For now, I’ll live with à la carte services, and the regular ritual of looking to shave a service here and a feature there. Convenience has always come at a cost.

Cord cutting is real, multichannel video industry losing subscribers

Research analysts say that despite adding 195,000 new subscribers in the U.S. in the first quarter this year, major multichannel video providers still suffered a net loss over a four-quarter period, indicating that cord cutting has had an impact.

Leichtman Research Group surveyed 13 of the largest multichannel video providers across the country, who make up 94% of the market. Their findings showed a net loss of 80,000 subscribers over the past 12 months, a huge swing compared to the 380,000 they gained in the year prior. They also believe that the traditionally weaker second-quarter will drive that net loss even higher.

Part of the reason for the shift is that over-the-top (OTT) video providers were beginning to impact the market, though survey results didn’t quantify just how deep that impact actually was.

“First-time ever annual industry-wide losses reflect a combination of a saturated market, an increased focus from providers on acquiring higher-value subscribers, and some consumers opting for a lower cost mixture of over-the-air TV, Netflix and other OTT viewing options,” said Bruce Leichtman, president and principal analyst for Leichtman Research Group, Inc.

The top nine cable companies have over 51 million subscribers but lost 264,000 in the first quarter — 1.56 million in total from just a year ago. Satellite TV companies fared better by adding 57,000 subscribers in Q1, but it’s the lowest gain in any first quarter over the last 10 years.

It hasn’t been a good year for cable companies. Time Warner lost 553,000 customers in the past 12 months. Comcast lost 359,000. Charter shed 217,000.

OTT video and IPTV providers did the opposite. Netflix added two million subscribers in Q1 alone. Hulu Plus doubled its paid subscriber base to four million. Verizon FiOS added 542,000 and AT&T got 777,000 to sign up in the last 12 months.

lol no one needs ntek shares, you can have them today for 4 pennies
Reversal should start around Friday next monday at the latest IMO
I still see more of a drop coming. Waiting to buy back in finally. Closer to .045.
Nice DD, thank you for sharing?
Actually $.0485, but what's 18% anyway?

I could less about the daily trading. I think NTEK is a long-term play. Growing content libraries is a long haul. As long as they keep adding content, it's all good.

NTEK said they would retire shares and they did, over 250M.

Projected a dividend, and they delivered.

Said they would ship NP-1's after Google certification, and low and behold, I have one in my living room.

Said UltraFlix would be an available 4K app, and it is.

Said they would have audited financials for 2014, and auditing firm and attorney confirmed they are in progress.

Said they would expand 4K Studios, and now there's a new Hollywood office.

Stated they would unveil new gaming software at G2E, and it turned out to be the talk of the show.

I don't know where all this NTEK doesn't deliver crap comes from, but from where I sit they are delivering more than 99% of otc companies.

NTEK = Recurring Revenue
I think they will exceed that next year very easy.
Generally people tend to cater for their needs and supress their wants, especially people that put their family before themselves...
The question should be "Do you really need a 4k tv right now?"
That 73% will certainly change to a single digit %.
People are more concious of the watts used and savings they can make when changing appliances.
