Sustainable Model

A question often on shareholder’s minds is that of how BG Medical Technologies will sustain through shifting state and federal policy.

BudGenius entered the market in 2010 with considerable founder investment. With several technology roads to choose from, there were several key points of due diligence that settled our entry into the industry as a social Internet-driven medical cannabis laboratory.

A key point to remember in all cannabis professional investments, public or private, is that demand for medical cannabis has increased steadily over many years and continues to grow. Regardless of shifting policies, demand remains constant. This requires states and federal policy makers to continue to refine this emergent industry with regulations that represent proper taxation and safety models. Over one third of U.S. citizens live in a state-legal region. Furthermore, a recent Gallup poll has shown that 50% of American citizens favor medical cannabis legalization to some extent. This considerable support represents significant voting power in favor of medical cannabis.

Our interest is in safeguarding patients and understanding the data to better determine medical cannabis applications for patients and cannabis professionals. In many ways, cannabis laboratories are an opt-in “FDA” for the cannabis industry, assuring safe consumption for patients that receive tested medicine. In the near future, tested medicine is expected to become mandatory requirement for all caregivers. We can envision no other model for proper patient safety for a recognized medical treatment.

Each employee holds a state-legal cannabis recommendation. At any given time, our research lab contains no more cannabis than employees operating in the building. This rule also holds true for each sales representative receiving products from dispensaries. Our software tracking system ensures BudGenius remains in compliance with respective state laws at all times.

Major media has a tendency to produce sensational stories that may appear at times to be constraining to the cannabis market. This assumption is untrue. Even recent federal pressure in 2012 has been aimed primarily at affecting dispensaries that have historically been operating out of state and local regulations. BG Medical Technologies and BudGenius support the observation of state regulations from medical cannabis.

BG Medical recognizes that the cannabis industry is a shifting landscape requiring an adept overview and flexible operating structure to address changing regulations. Most newly placed regulations are observed as a natural evolution of the industry. Cannabis is still finding the most effective operational model as each new state introduces legalization policies.
