Middlesex Water Company (Nasdaq:MSEX) today announced that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend payable on December 1, 2014 for shareholders of record as of November 14, 2014. The Board of Directors also approved an increase in the Company's quarterly cash dividend from $0.1900 to $0.1925 per share. The new dividend rate represents the 42nd consecutive year that Middlesex Water has raised the dividend on its common stock. This increase raises the annual dividend to $0.77 from $0.76 per share of common stock.

Middlesex Water Company (Nasdaq:MSEX), a provider of water, wastewater and related services, has announced that its Delaware subsidiary, Tidewater Utilities, Inc., (Tidewater) begins full operation and ownership of the water production and distribution system of Dover Air Force Base (DAFB) in Dover, DE, today. Tidewater entered into an agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense for the privatization of the system in September 2013 following a U.S. Air Force water privatization study and an extensive competitive bid process. The DAFB water system was formally conveyed to Tidewater as the system owner recently following a joint inventory of assets.

PSC Approves Tidewater Utilities Rate Settlement

Middlesex Water Company (Nasdaq:MSEX), a provider of water, wastewater and related services, has announced that the Delaware Public Service Commission (PSC) has approved a $0.8 million increase in the base water rates of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Tidewater Utilities, Inc., effective August 19, 2014. The increase resulted from a settled agreement with the Staff of the PSC and the Delaware Division of the Public Advocate. In an application filed with the PSC in November 2013, Tidewater sought an increase in base rates of $3.9 million to reflect increased costs of operations, maintenance and taxes as well as capital improvements of approximately $12.8 million made since the Company's last rate filing. Subsequently, Tidewater updated its request seeking a lower increase in the amount of $2.5 million resulting primarily from significantly lower employee benefit plan costs.

Middlesex Water Company (Nasdaq:MSEX) announced that the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) has approved a $4.2 million increase in base water rates to its customers located in central New Jersey effective July 20, 2014, reflecting an overall revenue increase of approximately 6.34%. In its original petition filed with the BPU in November 2013, Middlesex sought an increase in base rates of $10.6 million or approximately 15.9% to recover costs of increases in chemicals, fuel, electricity, technology, taxes, labor, benefits and other operating and maintenance expenses.
