The BC Supreme Court issued a stay on the prohibition of edibles/oils for consumption by registered patients citing it was unconstitutional for the federal government to decide what form the registered user must use. The federal government does not tell you you only can take a certain drug a certain way - restrictions on dosages or medicating methodolgy is left to the producer in order to achieve the best results for the patient. In this case, the federal government could be seen as acting contrary to the public interest by not allowing a child to use a CBC oil in yogurt for example, and forcing a child to smoke it.
The right of users to use edibiles will be a boon to producers like CEN and can only add to the longevity of the industry and remove the stigma of pot smoking criminals from the public debate by showing children or the aged and infirm being the recipients of a beneficial drug.
