Have you ever heard this? A man of faith lived

A man of faith lived in a house by the river. One day another man came to his house and said, " a flood is coming you need to leave". The man said, " I'm not leaving, I believe God will protect me".
The next day the water started rising and soon was up to his porch when another man in a boat came to his house and said, " get in the boat and I will bring you to safety". The man refused and again said, " I'm not leaving God will protect me".
By the end of that day the water was in the house and the man was trying to stay dry up on his roof when another man in a helicopter came by and said, "grab the rope and I will bring you to safety". Again the stubborn man said, " I'm not leaving God will protect me".
By the next morning the house had been swept off it's foundation and had washed away. The man had been swept away with it and died. Upon his death the man stood at the Pearly Gates and was very upset indeed. At this point God appeard before him and asked, "my son why are you so upset?" The man exclaimed, "father, I have been faithful my entire life and have lived a life of true virtue, why did you forsake me and let me die like this?". Then God replied, "my son, I did NOT forsake you, first I sent you a messenger to warn you of the flood, then I sent you a boat to save you, and lastly I even sent a helicopter, but you refused all of my help. Death was your choice not mine, what else could I do?".
Don't be a victim of Terminal Optimism. You have to be able to read the signs you are given.
