Conifex Provides Update on 72 Hour Run Test for Mackenzie Power Project

Conifex Timber Inc. ("Conifex" (TSX: CFF) today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Conifex Power Limited Partnership ("CPLP" , commenced its 72 hour run test required to achieve the commercial operation date for the Mackenzie Power Project on Saturday, October 11, 2014. The entire facility performed well and met performance expectations for a period of 24 hours. However, CPLP subsequently halted the test prior to completion as a result of a failure of certain newly installed electrical equipment. Conifex is currently working with its contractors and equipment suppliers to remediate the matter and will re-schedule the 72 hour test as soon as appropriate thereafter.

Conifex Provides Update on Mackenzie Power Generation Project and Earnings Call

Conifex Timber Inc. ("Conifex" or the "Company" (TSX: CFF) today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Conifex Power Limited Partnership, has completed construction of its Mackenzie, B.C. power generation project (the "Power Plant" and is, in the ordinary course, currently commissioning its various systems and operating the same. Conifex expects that the continuous 72 hour run test required to achieve the commercial operation date ("COD" in accordance with the Electricity Purchase Agreement with BC Hydro (the "EPA" will commence shortly. Upon achieving COD, the Power Plant will commence providing power under the EPA and generating revenues.

Net income for the first six months of 2014 was $3.6 million or $0.17 per diluted share compared to net income of $8.6 million or $0.42 per diluted share over the same period last year.

("Conifex" or the "Company" (TSX VENTURE: CFF) announced today that, further to its prior news release, its wholly-owned subsidiary, Conifex Power Limited Partnership ("Conifex Power" , has accepted commitment letters from a syndicate of three institutional lenders led by a Canadian chartered bank for secured project financing (the "Project Financing" for its planned 36MW bioenergy power project in Mackenzie, British Columbia (the "Power Project" . The Project Financing is for an aggregate of $103 million and will include approximately $80 million (the "Loan Facility" as a development and construction loan for the Power Project. The Loan Facility will consist of a construction loan which will mature approximately 14 months from the closing date and convert into an amortized term loan having a term of 5 years once the conditions to conversion are satisfied, including substantial completion of construction of the Power Project. The balance of the Project Financing will be in the form of a letter of credit facility primarily to secure certain obligations of Conifex Power under its existing load displacement agreement and a $1.75 million revolving operating facility.
