There is no place to get the actual, precise number of free floating shares except for making a phone call to the TA.
As for the float being "unknown", I think what is meant by that it the REAL float is unknown. The TA can tell you how many shares are freely available to trade, but the TA cannot tell you if the individual has pledged those shares or is using them for collateral or simply has absolutely no intention to sell those shares at this time.
Personally I believe at least half of the float is actually tied up somehow and can be considered untradeable (I know that one of the board of directors has hundreds of millions of shares in the float, but he is also tied to an agreement with Baltia that he can't sell until after the onset of revenues).
So the real float has yet to be seen, and will be tested when Baltia begins advertising and ticket sales......and the volume and demand for BLTA skyrocket.
