, has been awarded a $1.0 million Phase 2 energy efficiency lighting project with Rancho Santiago Community College District at the Santiago Canyon College Campus. Phase 2 includes replacement of exterior fixtures with new LED fixtures and a retrofit of interior fixtures with LED kits. The total value of Phase 2 is $1.0 million,bringing total of both phasesto $2.1 million.

The $1.0 million dollar Phase 1projectwas funded through the California Clean Energy Jobs Act (Proposition 39). Sun Industries was awarded the project due to competitive pricing, expertise in lighting retrofits, and a history of successful projects in the MUSH sector (municipalities, universities, schools, and hospitals).
Sun's ongoing success withProp 39projectsis a result of the company's experience and depth of services aligning perfectlywith the preferential award criteria. Sun's bid responses entail a 21 year history of over 115 retrofit projects across the United States, totalling $21 million with an average project size of $500 thousand completed in schools and universities. Sun Industries is an ideal candidate for any K-12 or Community College District implementing an energy savings project. Sun is equipped with highly trained professional lighting design staff and a project staffing plan for 100% on-site project management combined with an in-house team of California Certified Lighting Technicians.
The Phase 1 project included a complete pre-field verification at the Santa Ana College Campus, aconstruction grade audit,and a review of proposed lighting layouts. Sun also assisted in fine tuning the exterior lighting specification during the constructionphase. Inefficient (400-1000 Watt) HID parking lot and walkway fixtures were replaced with new (225-295 Watt) LED fixtures.
