RagingWire Expands Ashburn, Virginia Data Center Campus With 140,000 Square Foot VA2 Data Center and 14MW of Power

ASHBURN, VA --(Marketwired - October 23, 2014) - RagingWire Data Centers, the nation's premier data center provider and an NTT Communications group company, announced today it will begin construction on a 140,000 sq. ft. data center facility with 14MW of highly available power as part of its Ashburn, Virginia campus. This two-story building, known as VA2, nearly doubles the size of RagingWire's Ashburn, Virginia campus to 290,000 sq. ft., reflecting the robust demand for RagingWire's 100% available, high-density power colocation solutions and strong data center absorption rates in Northern Virginia. First customer installations are planned for the end of 2015.

RagingWire made the VA2 announcement at its Second Anniversary Celebration attended by over 400 customers, partners, and supporters. A group of dignitaries from Dominion Virginia Power, Dulles Chamber of Commerce, Loudoun Board of Supervisors, Loudoun Chamber of Commerce, Loudoun Department of Economic Development, Loudoun Water, and the Northern Virginia Technology Council, joined RagingWire executives on stage for an unveiling of a rendering of the new facility.

"These are exciting times at RagingWire, and our sales pipeline is growing extraordinarily fast," said Doug Adams, Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer at RagingWire. "We are expanding our capacity in both Virginia and California by bringing on new data centers, as well as planning to enter new markets in the United States to ensure that we have the supply to meet customer demand."

RagingWire opened its first data center in Ashburn, Virginia in July 2012, a 150,000 sq. ft. facility called VA1, and has purchased 78 acres of land in Ashburn with designs to build upwards of 2 million sq. ft. of data center space. VA2 will be fully integrated with VA1 and networked with RagingWire's 680,000 sq. ft. data center campus in Sacramento, California, the largest commercial multi-tenant data center in the state. The new Ashburn facility includes a state-of-the-art and industry-leading power infrastructure providing densities beyond 30kW per cabinet. When VA2 opens, RagingWire's total data center footprint in the United States will be nearly 1 million sq. ft.

"Congratulations to RagingWire on announcing its new VA2 facility," said Simon Anderson, CEO of DreamHost, one of the top cloud hosting companies in the United States with 370,000 customers and 1.3 million hosted domains. "DreamHost was RagingWire's flagship customer in Ashburn, Virginia, and we have been delighted with the service and availability."

Adjacent to Dominion Virginia Power's Beaumeade substation and sitting on 7.1 acres of land, VA2 is ideal for companies that require enterprise grade data center space for their critical information technology (IT) systems. The facility has dual fiber entrances with broad access to telecommunications carriers and inter-campus connectivity. The data center design features RagingWire's patented 2N+2 ® architecture, which delivers 100% availability of high density power and an operational model that exceeds the Tier IV standards of the Uptime Institute by being both concurrently maintainable and fault tolerant for power delivery even during a utility outage.

RagingWire's VA2 data center announcement follows the recent release of 39,000 sq. ft. of new turn-key data center space in VA1 and the announcement of its new 180,000 sq. ft. CA3 facility on its Sacramento campus, where first customer installations are scheduled by year end 2014.
