The patent covers AssureNow's automation capability for service assurance. When AssureNow receives an event, it executes the appropriate policy for that event whether it is remediation of a problem, discovery of more information, or enrichment and correlation to other data sources. If the event is unknown, an operator can choose from a set of policies or assign a new policy to be automated. AssureNow works by using an embedded wiki knowledge base to allow operators to organically grow and collect intelligence around network resources, services, applications, and customers.
Many operational disruptions can be remediated with simple resolution steps that AssureNow can store and perform without operator intervention providing teams with a powerful tool to reduce workloads and increase operational efficiency. Additionally, some complex disruptions require more information be gathered as close to the time of disruption as possible.
