The single best thing that this company and any other AMerican OIl company has going for it is that not only does ISIS present a threat to crude oil supply but terrorism at large. This is in addition to the fact that Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Mexico and other locations around the globe where large reserves have been steadily tapped for years are RUNNING OUT OF OIL. This is an inescapable truth.
I guarantee that if someone were to apply Hubbert's peak oil theory to any of these places they are in their demise phase.
Don't think for a second that the US Gov and Oil industry is not well aware of this.
The Bakken and 4 corners regions represent the largest reserves in the world. Australia's Coober Pedy region is also very very large.
Estimates put these areas reserves at multiples many times greater than the Saudi, Iraqi, and Mexican reserves combined
Isis and their attacks on foreign wells will definitely put this at the news forefront very soon.
Whether Bakken has cards or not this sector should rise on these impacting issues very soon.
