Another potential way to explain the negativity toward the company is that the fundamental value of PTOI, the very essence of the company, was supposed to be that PTOI could make fuel for under $10/bbl with offers in hand for WTI-$3/bbl. As it became obvious those numbers were fake and that PTOI can't produce anything at a profit, that might have generated some negativity.
