People's Bank Reports 40% Increase in Earnings

People's Bank of Commerce (OTCBB BCO) today reported earnings of $507,000 for the first six months of 2014, compared to $362,000 for the same period last year. The Bank reported earnings of $0.27 per share for the first six months of 2014, compared to $0.28 per share for the prior year. Net interest income was up 14% year-to-date over the prior year. "The Bank continues to experience strong loan and deposit growth, with loans up 17% and deposits up 25%, compared to prior year," said Ken Trautman, President and CEO of People's Bank. "These significant increases are working their way down to the bottom line," said Trautman.

People's Bank Declares 5% Stock Dividend

The Board of Directors of People's Bank of Commerce (OTCBB BCO) announced that it has declared a five percent stock dividend, subject to shareholder approval of an amendment to the articles of incorporation increasing the number of authorized shares of common stock from the current two million to four million shares, at the annual meeting of shareholders on April 23, 2014. The five percent stock dividend is to be paid on or about June 16, 2014 to shareholders of record May 15, 2014.

People's Bank Reports 50% Increase in Fourth Quarter Earnings

People's Bank of Commerce (OTCBB BCO) reported fourth quarter earnings for 2013 were $301,000 or $0.17 per share, compared to $199,000 or $0.16 per share for the same quarter in 2012. "Fourth quarter earnings gained one cent per share even though the Bank sold over 500,000 new shares of common stock during the 3rd and 4th quarters of 2013," said Ken Trautman, President and CEO. Net interest income for the fourth quarter of 2013 was up 17 percent, when compared to the same quarter in the prior year, due to strong loan growth.

The Bank reported earnings of $0.28 per share for the first six months of 2013, compared to $0.35 per share for the prior year. Net interest income was up 15% year-to-date over the prior year. People's Bank had a 14 percent increase in net interest income in the first quarter of 2013, when compared to the same period last year. Non-interest income was down 13 percent from the prior year during the first quarter of 2013, primarily due to a reduction in mortgage loan income.

Net interest income for the year of $5.5 million was up 14 percent from $4.8 million in 2011. At December 31, 2012, the bank reported a 20 percent increase in portfolio loans to $112.1 million, a 14 percent increase in total assets to $144.5 million, and a 14 percent increase in deposits to $125.7 million, when compared to the prior year.
