It's hard to believe that Health Canada would agree to withold the license at the local municipalities' request. I would think this would constitute a black eye for them. Lakeshore was notified before any construction began and gave the okay. If a planning board can halt you after you've invested 20 million in a project there is something seriously wrong with the process. I think HC will stay their course and let Lakeshore deal with heir own internal problem.
I also think the Lakeshore Council is still on our side but is afraid to stand up and declare"as your elected officials we support this industry and welcome the employment opportunity as well as the revenue we can expect". I wish they would show some backbone but that's not really what politicians are known for....I think the deferral of the zoning bylaw amendment was purposeful, to give us time to receive the license and be grandfathered in. The process has taken too long.
