Let's assume, just for grins, that a waste processing plant collecting plastic that cannot be sold on the market, but can be separated with new technology, is able to process that plastic into a fuel. That might be better than landfilling the waste.
I still believe there are businesses that can benefit from processing waste destined to be landfilled.
They might not be making a lot of money doing it, but anything that ends up costing less than the current process is good enough.
I have no idea how much of this is real. But I don't think it's as bad as you are characterizing it.
Yes I do believe that more than marketable plastic can be processed if it has been separated. They might need to update their permits, but that should not be an issue.
Waiting to see if there is anything to salvage from this mess.
I wouldn't be investing if I wasn't already invested.
