Many years ago a large brewery wanted to move into a small city in upstate New York. My father was living there at the time. It has always been a moderately depressed area, except for a few strong businesses, but the brewery would have been huge for the town.
Unfortunately, "the old boys" group, who pretty much controlled the business, real estate, politics and economy of the town, saw it as a threat to their control, and they kept it out. As a result the town went on many years in the same financial rut.
The good news is I believe Bill that zoning is not an issue, and we will prevail. As I said earlier, once we're running if they want us out we can move. I suspect the locals who are earning a living with us will not take kindly to us being pushed out, but we shall see.
More will be revealed...or reviled, as my pappy used to say...
