MMPR License Questions
Does the final inspection include several “steps/visits” ?
If a Company “passes” are they issued something called a “ready to grow” letter?
If yes, Does a “ready to grow” authorize a company to import/plant seeds?
Do Companies have to have testing of products to ensure problem free and consistency prior to license issueing?
Once harvested & packaging approximately how long for results?
Is testing done by an independent 3rd party?
Is it true the current MMPR guideline regarding process and regulations is outdated?
If yes, when will it be updated?
Hello,
Thank you for your interest in the Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR).
Once it has been confirmed through the pre-licence inspection that the applicant meets all the requirements of the MMPR, a licence will be issued.
Subsequent inspections will enable Health Canada inspectors to confirm that the first batch of the dried marijuana produced meets the good production practices and record keeping requirements outlined in the MMPR. It also allows Health Canada to verify the test results of the dried marijuana (e.g. for microbial and chemical contaminants) to ensure that the dried marijuana meets all quality control requirements before it is made available for sale.
You may only obtain your starting materials after you have successfully obtained your License to Produce.
Licensed Producers can choose to either perform their analytical testing on-site at their production location or they can send their marihuana for testing to a third-party laboratory. An acceptable analytical testing laboratory must possess a dealers licence that would authorise the possession or handling of this material.
