Many people trade within defined ranges while holding a core position. What is construed generally to be bashing is directed to people that spread innuendo and false information deliberately as a means to scare less informed shareholders into selling their shares. I am sure you already know this though. The purpose of learning to range trade as a strategy is that you can identify and target lows and highs then set GTC Limit buy or sell orders. Generally speaking it is better to use weekly charts for range trading.
This is a proactive approach as a trading strategy. There are numerous people on this board that are probably willing to post longer term strategies if you are interested.
Thanks for your post and I would say hoping the price goes up while optimistic as an expectation could become a perhaps a better informed decision or strategy when proficient with technical analysis. Please do not think I am in any way being negative of your post. I am encouraging you to continue learning TA as it may help to define a short and long term trading strategy not based on hope alone.
