Investment Summary
Smart 1 Systems, Inc. (S1S), subsidiary of eDoorways International Corp. ( EDWY.PK ), is a software development company headquartered in Austin, Texas. S1S inherited eDoorways’ proprietary A.I./rule-based adaptive learning technology that was called “world-changing” by the United Nations when invented in 1999. S1S is updating and evolving this still-bleeding-edge technology into a toolkit for rapidly creating interactive e-learning modules and courses optimized and speech-enabled for mobile devices. A minimum viable product (MVP) will be first used internally to convert and deploy adaptive learning courses for paying corporate customers before being released to the general educational and learning marketplace. S1S is raising money via the public and private placement of restricted EDWY stock to fund this initial effort, after which revenue generated by selling S1S courseware, tools, and services should fund future expansion.
The Problem
American’s educational system is stuck decades behind technology’s ability to adapt modes of learning to today’s students of all ages. In particular, classroom lectures followed by solitary homework assignments and tests simply cannot compete with twitch and massively multiplayer online games, YouTube videos, texting, Facetime, and the myriad of other ways students have of investing their life energy. And a higher-level education and recurrent and/or certification training all simply cost too much when delivered using that traditional sequential, classroom-based approach. While there is some innovation in education (for example, Khan Academy’s “flipped” approach), its use of stand-alone videos and post-testing is still slow and unwieldy.
The Solution
S1S's revolutionary adaptive learning technology called SmartONE will be a completely new pathway to the creation and over-the-air delivery of adaptive learning modules to mobile devices. Users around the world will be able to interact, collaborate, and pay only for what they use on rich, multimedia courseware modules. On iOS and Android devices, S1S's modules can be speech optimized so that on-the-go conversations with an “intelligent tutor” will be possible. S1S-hand-crafted courses will be:
- better (because they will automatically adapt to multiple learning modalities)
- faster (because they will take less time to create and can be delivered directly to users’ mobile devices wherever they are)
- cheaper (because they’re simpler to create and maintain using LRI’s proprietary toolkit and learners spend less time away from their primary jobs), and
Courseware modules (apps) created using S1S's IDE may be uploaded to our Learning Management System where they can be searched for, bought (if not free), downloaded, and executed on a variety of iOS and Android mobile devices as well as browsers.
Market Opportunity
S1S's market is the sweet spot where A.I. meets learning meets mobile devices. Li-Ka Shing, Asia’s richest man, said of this market, “One of the biggest A.I. impacts will come in the educational field, where customized learning will become ‘closely knitted’ to individual devices.”
S1S will not initially focus on the entrenched institutional education market; rather, we will sell our superior course-creation technology and services to paying corporate customers with high-value opportunities such as refresher professional training (doctors, lawyers), sales and business training (how to close a deal), and preparation for certification (stock broker Series 7, MSSC certification). However, S1S's IDE will ultimately be made available to the general public, so that anyone who has something to teach can easily and handily construct a learning module and/or course (like programmers can use Apple’s Xcode IDE to create apps) that can be monetized via S1S's LMS (like apps can be monetized via Apple’s App Store). The revenue split from our LMS plus custom corporate services will constitute S1S's sources of revenue.
