BUFFALO, N.Y. – Sept. 19, 2014 – Sue Nowicki, engineering director at Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE: NOC ) Buffalo-based Amherst Systems business unit, was among 27 area women to be recognized for their business acumen and community spirit at the recent Buffalo Business First Women of Influence Awards.

Nowicki was honored in the Corporate Executive category, which recognizes female executives who have made their mark in a large corporate environment. A 25-year veteran of Northrop Grumman, Nowicki leads an engineering department that develops threat emitter simulators for pilot training.

Throughout her career, Nowicki has shown a commitment to education and dedication to helping area students become interested in engineering and related fields. She currently serves on the Dean's Advisory Council for the University of Buffalo's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Nowicki is also a member of the science, technology, engineering, art and math board at the Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart.
