Start-up companies don't ordinarily have the resources to establish fail-safe root systems. There can be no stronger root in the MJ arena than creating a new outlet for dispensing MJ. Whether medical or recreational, there's plenty of reason to expect near term profits coming from a mj dispensing entity. Coming from both medical and recreational sales, should that become the reality, is logically a shoo-in for profitability.
However, this whole thing is up for grabs---licenses are not cheap by any means. As much faith and respect I have for Tony, there is just so much one man can hope to accomplish in mere months. Remember, he just found out about residency requirements in Washington and Colorado, so he's not exactly an expert on such matters.
My sense is that there will be no licenses handed out any time soon. Politics being what they are, I can't believe the licensing process can be so simple, so easy. And I don't think that we longs will necessarily have such incredible luck that we just happen to have been here at the most opportune of moments with social acceptance of pot just now coming into vogue without a criminal association attached.
Not to say the process will stall out indefinitely for I don't see that. But I do think state officials will put a freeze on things pending agreement among elected officials. And I've never known politicians to agree on anything when money was involved. Politics is all about power and control and that is invariably denominated in dollars.
Tony may be entrenched in political circles and able to circumvent some notable obstacles but I have no knowledge of such things. I hope he's got a few surprises up his sleeve.
