BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4737 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2409 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2599 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Gilead Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq:GILD) today announced results from a Phase 2 study evaluating simtuzumab, an investigational inhibitor of lysyl oxidase-like-2 (LOXL2), in combination with gemcitabine for patients with previously untreated advanced pancreatic cancer. In the study, the addition of simtuzumab (200 mg or 700 mg) to gemcitabine did not significantly increase progression-free survival (PFS) compared to placebo plus gemcitabine. PFS was the primary endpoint of the study.
