James Neil (Jamie) Yocom, also known as Yogi, 55, of Clyde, passed away surrounded by his loving family at an Abilene hospital on Thursday, August 21, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014, in the Bailey-Howard Funeral Home Chapel. His cremains will be buried at a later date in the cemetery in Loop, Texas.
Jamie was born April 12, 1959, in Las Cruses, New Mexico, and moved to Lamesa in 1963. He was baptized in 1970 at Westside Baptist Church in Lamesa. He was a Boy Scout, Troup 723, in Lamesa until May, 1972, and was a 1977 graduate of Lamesa High School. Jamie has worked in the oil field since he graduated from high school, and was working for Hartland Drilling Company in Abilene at the time of his death.
Jamie is survived by his mother, Ruth Deere of Lamesa; two brothers, Alan Yocom of Lamesa and L. R. Deere of Dallas; five sisters, Debra Brown of Abilene, Carla Deere and Mendi Nelson of Lamesa, Alice (Pee Wee) Brandley of Paris and Mary (Sissy) Evans of Dallas; several nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/reporternews...HZHGa.dpuf
