I didn't mean to sound negative to you bubbybrown, I just wanted to point out (IN MY VIEW ONLY) that shares coming off restriction don't have as much significance as some people seem to think. On the Facebook board people were making a huge deal out of shares coming off restriction, and that meaning they were being dumped or would put pressure on the price. I don't think it necessarily means either. People still hold or sell according to their opinions and needs.
And yes, there were points where the share price did encourage parties to sell. I think there were also institutions and large investors who had been issued a lot of shares, and not necessarily looking for long term investments, they would sell when they could get their money back out with a profit.
