I spent my life in public relations boyo. News is news and unless you are advocating an illicit industry, a politician will throw their weight behind any project as long as their name is mentioned. It becomes free press for the politicians and as long as no city/town/municipal money went into it, and there is no perceived harm, they will issue a press release about you selling their mother.
