It's a fine line between bashing and expressing dissatisfaction with how a CEO runs their business.
Perhaps we are a bit overprotective here (at this board) as a result of the beatings and reamings we all received on the dark side. That said, I agree with you regarding some of Mark's flaws, but I honestly believe he is trying to grow a real business and he is frustrated by the attacks on him and has chosen to retreat from most people as a self preservation technique, right or wrong.
Let me throw this analogy out for consideration...
Say you have built a new restaurant in town, new building, new menu, new staff, new chef, and today is the day you have your opening. You know from experience that there will be mistakes, and areas where over time you will refine your restaurant and service, but like it or not you're opening today!
Do you stand out front and yell to all to hear that you have a great menu, great staff, great chef and that if you come in and sit awhile, eat and drink, you will have a fantastic experience or do you tell all that you will have questionable service, questionable food and a mediocre to bad experience?
It is all in how you share information and how you plan on making things better.
