AFRINIC launches new version of WHOIS
On Saturday 30 August 2014, AFRINIC deployed a new code for its WHOIS database, WHOIS 2.0 (v 1.73).
This version is fully IPv6 compatible and enables update via the command line interface as well as a RESTful API. In addition, with the deployment of WHOIS 2.0, the AFRINIC team has also implemented two policies that were recently ratified:
1. AFPUB-2012-V4-001-DRAFT-01 Anycast Assignments in the AFRINIC region
2. AFPUB-2012-DNS-001-DRAFT-02 No Reverse Unless Assigned
We hope that WHOIS 2.0 will contribute greatly to the management of Internet number resources in our region.
