It would be part of her job to be familiar with welding techniques. It is complicated stuff.
Condensers would be a part they would order to spec. If I remember correctly,. when I worked for an industrial gases company, everything had to function as intended to -50 C. All of the equipment is outside. The coldest winter possible would not be a problem.
Her job would have been to procure the correct condensers for the job. She would have to know the pressures and temperatures under which they would have to operate. The stitch weld is just how the vendor chose to put it together. What really matters are the specs for the part.
That equipment failure due to cold makes JBI a joke from an Engineering standpoint.
