Yes, it does look like they are playing catchup a bit. Documenting what has been built without a proper top-down design process.
The condenser failures are a dead giveaway. Any self-respecting Junior Engineer could have specced out those condensers and avoided the failures altogether. I always thought that having an in-house machine shop was unnecessary.
They could have done this Engineering work up-front and avoided all of this now. They also likely could have looked at profitability and known early on that JBI would have to pay for feedstock, done the math, and that therefore it would not be profitable.
Note the tools listed in the CVs. I doubt that JBI has AutoCAD and the like. One thing about these Engineering firms, they all have the latest tools and are highly automated. They have to be cutting edge and keep up. Tools are a competitive advantage.
