Global DCS Market 2014-2018: Key Vendors are ABB Ltd, Emerson Electric Co, Honeywell International Inc & Siemens AG
M2 - Mon Sep 01, 5:41AM CDT
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/2r3kpt/global_dcs_market) has announced the addition of the "Global DCS Market 2014-2018" report to their offering. The Global DCS market will grow at a CAGR of 3.49% over the period 2013-2018. A DCS is an automated control system that, rather than being centralized, is distributed across an entire organization. Such systems are distributed in such a way that each component or subsystem of a manufacturing plant is controlled by one or more controllers, thereby providing instructions to different parts of the plant. Thus, instead of having a centrally located control system, each section of the plant has its own control operation. These DCS solutions hence enable the effective and efficient control and management of the overall plant. Furthermore, they also facilitate a reduction in downtime errors and an increase in the productivity of the plant. One of the major trends in this market is the development of integrated DCS solutions. In order to optimize plant operation, organizations are looking for DCS solutions that can be easily and effectively integrated with other plant operations. According to the report, one of the main drivers in the market is the increased demand for DCS solutions from the Power industry. Organizations across the Power industry are opting for DCS solutions to improve their plant efficiency and reduce their downtime failure rates. Further, the report states that one of the main challenges in the market is the decline in the prices of DCS solutions. With the advancement of technology and the increasing competition among vendors, the overall cost of DCS solutions is declining. The Global DCS market can be divided on the basis of end-user into eight main segments: - Power - Oil and Gas - Pharmaceutical - Pulp and Paper - Food and Beverages - Chemical - Automotive - Packaging industries. The above end-user segments are the major consumers of DCS systems and their performance has a direct impact on the growth of the Global DCS market. Key Vendors - ABB Ltd. - Emerson Electric Co. - Honeywell International Inc. - Siemens AG Other Prominent Vendors - Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd. - General Electric Co. - Invensys plc - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. - Metso Corp. - Omron Corp. - Rockwell Automation Inc. - Toshiba International Corp. - Control Systems International Inc. - Yokogawa Electric Corp.
