Battelle said Thursday that John Welch, CEO of USEC Inc., has succeeded John McCoy as chairman of its board of directors.
Welch has been on the Columbus research and science organization’s board since 2001. Bethesda, Md.-based USEC (NYSE:USU) supplies fuel and technology in the nuclear industry and has been working to develop a uranium enrichment complex in Piketon in southern Ohio.
McCoy, retired chairman of the former Bank One Corp. , has been chairman for 12 of his 21 years on the board of the $6.2 billion nonprofit organization. He will remain a board member and head its compensation and governance committee.
