Kalitta also runs maintenance out of Willow Run, so Kalitta going to the plane simply means maintainers walking out onto the ramp.
Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions about the pilots - of course they want to be paid, but hiring seasoned airline vets is a win-win for Baltia. They have the experience necessary to safely operate their aircraft, but they're not struggling 25 year-olds chomping at the bit to get an airline gig while living paycheck to paycheck. My point is that they would be doing just fine without Baltia, and the company is lucky to have them.
My opinion is that if Baltia completes the remaining exercises on schedule, they can accomplish proving flights by the end of September. At that point it's waiting on the piece of paper from the FAA.
