What do think one of the benefits of the NYSE partner are? Helping to foot expenses for developing tech and securing patents, IMO
Though what an embarrassment for Google to announce their state of the art contact lens with no reliable way to power it. Yet a startup does. Especially after Google glass. They'll sign a deal whether that is to buy or license it.

A patent is only enforceable if you have the money to enforce it...
And against a Google or a Novartis... good luck there! Could cost $10's of millions and many many years to defend... IF... the patent ever gets issued! A patent app has little value until it gets issued... until then, it is just wishful thinking!
And trust me... I have found very few patents in my life that can't be worked around to achieve the same outcome.
All I am saying is... dreaming is wonderful... but reality rarely comes close!

I envision the announcements made last year and the big boys R&D heads saying to each other, $hit this unknown startup has already figured it out. Setup a meeting with them now and offer to buy it for $$$$$$$$!
EPGL has always known what they have and said no thanks but we will license it to you. If we retain the option to also license to others.
