Marley Coffee's RealCup(TM) Capsules to be Compatible With Keurig(R) 2.0 Brewers

DENVER, Aug. 25, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Marley Coffee (OTCQB:JAMN) ( www.marleycoffee.com ), the sustainably grown, ethically farmed and artisan-roasted gourmet coffee company, announces that its single-serve coffee partner and investor, Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee, will launch a new version of the Marley Coffee RealCup™ capsule that will be compatible with the future Keurig Green Mountain K2.0 brewer, reported to launch later this year. The compatibility technology will then also be integrated into the EcoCup™ format for Marley Coffee, which will utilize a recyclable capsule that is accepted by many curbside recycling programs.

"The evolution of this technology makes us even more confident in our platform choice with Mother Parkers, and we believe their technology will be the next revolution in the category," said Rohan Marley, founder and chairman of Marley Coffee. "We chose Mother Parkers because they embody the Marley ethos and share our priorities, which are creating a better customer experience and providing a greener footprint for our planet. More than ten billion single-serve capsules, which are equivalent to the weight of 160,700 cars, will be thrown into landfills next year. Our EcoCup, which is planned to launch in the first half of 2015, is expected to be one of the first true solutions to the sustainability issues seen with traditional capsules, and we will be continuing to encourage consumers to switch to greener products. All of our cups are either organic or Rain Forest Alliance certified and soon we will be recyclable.

"This is a game-changer because essentially the debate on whether or not the K2.0 brewer can control market share is over," said Brent Toevs, CEO of Marley Coffee. "Capsules that can be compatible with the K2.0 brewer will shift the single-serve industry paradigm. Three of the leading unlicensed manufacturers have now indicated that they have a solution to keep the category open and competitive. It is clear that retailers and consumers want choices and brand flexibility. With this breakthrough technology, Mother Parkers and Marley Coffee – along with other brands and independent equipment manufactures – will continue to strive for a fair and competitive environment that delivers consumer freedom."
