This news will not move the PPS Monday. It takes massive earthquake news to move the PPS up but the drop of a pin to move it down. However it will make it on CNBC Monday for sure. Any media coverage is better than nothing. Goldman purposely planned this release on a Friday night. The fact that I have nothing better to do on a Friday night except be on iHub is equally sad.
News about more hedge funds investing can also move the stock. IMO actually, there are many things that can move this stock, but court news is the big one. The news from court, if favorable, will not just move the stock, it will send it to another territory.....

Don't want to be a party pooper but doubt this will receive coverage. We've already seen tens of billions in settlements from other banks and barely a blurb.
IMO the only that moves this stock is court news.
$$FNMA$$
This news will be all over CNBC Monday morning. Interesting how this comes out on a Friday night because Goldman is hoping everybody forgets about it come Monday morning. I hope CNBC and other media outlets discuss this news to no end. We need this folks.
$FNMA Weekly,
May be they will try to make it go to the lower bollinger band before breaking it out - it might be very quick......
$FNMA Monthly
Almost 6 months of consolidation - I believe that this will breakout loose when time comes.....
Goldman news tonight is HUGE. It will be the talk of the town on Wall Street.
Under the terms of the settlement, Goldman Sachs will pay $3.15 billion in connection with releases and the purchase of securities that were the subject of statutory claims in the lawsuit FHFA v. Goldman Sachs & Co., et al., in the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York. Goldman Sachs will pay approximately $2.15 billion to Freddie Mac and approximately $1 billion to Fannie Mae. This settlement, worth approximately $1.2 billion, effectively makes Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac whole on their investments in the securities at issue. As part of the settlement, FHFA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will release certain claims against Goldman Sachs & Co. related to the securities involved.
from yahoo mb
It is a 3.15B settlement then.
This is the last of the important or meaningful settlements. We are done.
Good things are around the corner !!
There are 3 banks remaining Nomura, HSBC & RBS
But these are foreign banks with minor settlement amounts ie in the millions .

Goldman to Pay $3.15 Billion to Settle Mortgage Claims-link
The bank said on Friday that it had agreed to buy back $3.15 billion in mortgage bonds from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to end a lawsuit filed in 2011 by the Federal Housing Finance Agency, the federal regulator that oversees the two mortgage companies. The agency had accused Goldman of unloading low-quality mortgage bonds onto Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in the run-up to the financial crisis. It estimates that Goldman is paying $1.2 billion more than the bonds are now worth.

Yup, it's totally real. It's like Captain Phillips staring Tom Hanks real.

i've been thinking that could be the fhfa's primary motive for a while. it may also be what leads some in washington to claim they don't want any profits going to existing shareholders.
